Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra

The Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra performs for all of the Sacramento Opera productions. The Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra is a leader in high quality classical music performance, music education, and community engagement. Its concerts and community events have enjoyed growing attendance and critical acclaim under the leadership of Music Director and Conductor Michael Morgan.

The Sacramento Philharmonic inspires audiences and enriches Sacramento through excellent performances and great orchestral music. Highlights of its 2008/2009 season include the “Great Works Series,” five major concerts at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, featuring works by Bernstein, Beethoven, Mendelssohn,  Mozart, Dvorak and more.

The Sacramento Philharmonic is proud to present the Sacramento Premiere of Jazz Great Dave Brubeck and his son Christopher’s tribute to cherished nature photographer Ansel Adams on April 11, 2009. The legendary Leon Fleisher will the share the stage with the Philharmonic’s Maestro Michael Morgan on May 16, 2009. 

The up close and personal “Signature Series” will include a Thanksgiving feast of Bach and gospel in November 2008 and in March 2009, “American Stories” features Copland, Gershwin and the West Coast Premiere of a work by multitalented musician and composer Wynton Marsalis, “A Fiddler’s Tale”.
